5 Best Rooftop Restaurants in London 28th Jul 2017

Summer is definitely the time to enjoy London’s outdoor offerings. The capital offers one of the world’s most beautiful skylines and panoramic views – what is better than enjoying it in a nice rooftop restaurant after work? Here we listed our top 5 rooftop restaurants in London for you to choose from for your next dinner (or lunch!) out:

1-    Fenchurch Restaurant

Located on the top floor of 20 Fenchurch Street, commonly known as the Walkie Talkie, Fenchurch Restaurant is the ultimate high-end rooftop restaurant experience. The service is spectacular as expected and the menu offers a great variety of fine British contemporary cuisine. The restaurant offers a stunning view of St. Pauls and the river Thames.

2-    City Social

City Social is on the 24th floor of Tower 42 in the City of London. Its Michelin star winner menu consists of a fine mix of British, Asian and Mediterranean cuisine. Being located in the third tallest skyscraper in the City of London, the stylish restaurant offers an impressive view of London’s landmark buildings.

3-    Aviary

Just a short walk from Old Street and Moorgate underground stations, Aviary is located on the 10th floor of the Montcalm Hotel. A modern British menu, accompanied with great London skyline views cannot ever go wrong but Aviary takes it to next level with their great service and large cocktail selection.

4-    Boundary Rooftop

If you are looking for a less high-end option yet still want to have a perfect rooftop experience, Boundary Rooftop in Shoreditch should be your choice. The rooftop is open all year around and it is the perfect spot for group gatherings in the trendy Shoreditch district.

5-    Bird of Smithfield

Bird of Smithfield is the best way to get a taste of Italy right in the middle of the City of London. It is inspired by the Terrazza Aperol in Milan and especially famous for its drinks and cocktails. It is often frequented for after-work drinks by City professionals and is praised for its friendly environment – and GIF photo booth!

As new developments continue to take prominence in London and particularly the City of London, having an office where your view is not interrupted or in the shadow of the high rising skyscrapers is getting more and more difficult.  In a study published in “The Responsible Workplace,” it was shown that windows were the number one determinant of the occupants’ level of satisfaction with a building. If the window is looking straight into another building, then the benefit is not quite achieved. This is one of the reasons why our offices at One Aldgate are a great option. The vista from the last remaining office space available is excellent. Views stretch down the Olympic Park, taking in views but not in the shadow of the likes of the Chees Grater, Tower 42, The Gherkin, enjoying the benefit and none of the downside.   In fact this particular office space overlooks the soon to be completed Portsoken Pavilion, the office enjoys generous amounts of natural light and the luxury of having a birds eye view. What’s better you can be distracted by the works currently taking place and be the first to know when you can head over to the green space of the piazza and grab a coffee at the new pavilion. Come see for yourself if this view is the one you want to see each morning.  For more information about our serviced offices in Aldgate contact us now
